About the Role
You’ll be supporting a friendly and outgoing young gentleman in his late 20s who lives at home with his family and several dogs. He requires assistance with specialist manual handling, personal care, medication, physiotherapy, as well as close supervision due to self-directed challenging behaviours. The service is equipped with cameras for monitoring, and full training will be provided.
You’ll also complete shadow shifts to get familiar with the role – 2 morning shifts, 2 afternoon shifts, and one full day as lead – to ensure seamless support during his active and varied routine. He enjoys boxing, sailing, skiing, attending a brain-injury café, and visiting a dog hotel, so you’ll accompany him to these outings. Being energetic, enthusiastic, and active is essential.
You must have a clean, full UK driving licence to manage travel to this remote location. You’ll also need relevant care experience and be comfortable wearing loose-fitting clothing to avoid sensory triggers. As mentioned, full training – especially around behaviour support and bespoke manual handling will be provided.
