Set within beautiful countryside in South Gloucestershire, Thornbury Golf Centre is home to two fantastic golf courses, a 23-bay driving range, a welcoming clubhouse, on-site lodge accommodation, and a growing reputation as a destination for golf breaks, weddings, events, and leisure.
We are seeking an ambitious and commercially driven Sales & Marketing Manager to lead the delivery, development, and performance of all aspects of the Sales Department, including Membership, Group Golf, Functions & Events, and Lodge revenue. The successful candidate will be directly accountable for achieving and exceeding annual revenue and growth targets while strengthening Thornbury Golf Club & Lodge’s position within the local market.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a proactive and strategic approach to business development, relationship management, and revenue generation. You will play a key role in driving membership growth, maximising commercial opportunities, and developing sustainable revenue streams across the business. The role will proactively identify and secure new business opportunities through networking, local partnerships, corporate engagement, events, and community relationships, ensuring a strong and consistent sales pipeline across all key areas of the business.

You will also be responsible for developing, mentoring, and retaining a high-performing sales team, inspiring them to deliver exceptional service standards, achieve conversion targets, and consistently exceed customer expectations.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong commercial acumen, accountability, and strategic focus in leading all elements of the Sales & Marketing function, ensuring Thornbury Golf Club & Lodge continues to be recognised as the premier family-focused golf and leisure destination in the surrounding area.
The Sales & Marketing Manager will hold responsibility for delivering annual revenue targets, including:
- Membership Revenue: £704,000
- Group Golf Revenue: £175,000
- Functions & Events Revenue: £350,000
- Lodge Revenue: £185,000
Total annual revenue accountability: £1.4m+
This role is subject to a 6-month probationary period, with successful completion measured against agreed commercial, operational, and leadership objectives. This will include demonstrable progress towards sales targets, proactive networking and pipeline development, conversion performance, and effective team leadership.
