Meet Rolo, an adorable 8-month-old Jack Russell x Corgi who has recently come into the care of the Cotswolds Dogs & Cats Home.
Although still just a puppy, Rolo has already endured far more than any young dog should.
Rolo arrived in urgent need of medical care. Following veterinary assessment, it’s suspected that Rolo has been living with an untreated fracture for quite some time.
Despite being in discomfort, Rolo remains incredibly affectionate, gentle, and full of character. He still greets everyone with a wagging tail and trusts the people around him completely, something that makes his story all the more heartbreaking.
Our veterinary team advised that Rolo urgently needs specialist treatment, including x-rays and surgery. This procedure will help relieve the pain he has likely been living with for some time and give him the opportunity to enjoy the happy, active life every young dog deserves.
As a rescue charity, we are committed to helping animals like Rolo no matter the challenges they face. We never want finances to determine whether a dog receives the treatment they desperately need, and we will continue to ensure no animal suffers because of cost.
However, surgeries of this scale place enormous pressure on our resources, and we simply couldn’t do it without the support of our community.
