The Poppy Appeal campaign at Waitrose Cheltenham has received an outpouring of community support, raising an impressive £16,603 through card donations alone. With additional contributions still to be counted, the total across Cheltenham has reached £54,000 so far.
This achievement highlights the dedication of our volunteers, who contributed over 200 hours at the Waitrose stand. The more slots covered by volunteers, the more funds were raised, showcasing the vital role of community engagement in this important cause.
A special thank you goes to Geoff Oldham, who kicked off the campaign by manning the stand during the first week, and to McLoughlin Planning for their daily support throughout the second week. Additionally, Faye and Chris Mears and their lovely daughters, along with the Pates Grammar School Cadets and Tim Elliott from L3 Harries Technology with his 3 children played a significant role in engaging with the public and promoting the appeal. It was great to have servicing militray and vetrans support the appeal on the stand.
It was heartwarming to see young people learning about the Poppy Appeal and encouraging generous donations from community members. As we continue to collect and count cash donations from collection tins around Cheltenham, we look forward to sharing the final total in the coming weeks. For those interested in the highlights from the campaign, check out the photos and videos on our website: https://www.c2sgrowth.com/photo-galleries/.
