This week Zone Safety Training are delivering first aid at work to Hartpury college agricultural students. These students will go on to placements across UK farms and form part of our farming future.

What’s enlightening for us as emergency services personnel, is being able to install a sense of safety to the future farming industry.

Most of our instructors are Gloucestershire based and have attended some horrific agricultural incidents over the years with fatalities, many of which could of been avoided with quick action and basic first aid skills so for us now to be proactive rather than reactive is quite satisfying.

Hopefully these young potential farmers can join the agricultural world with a greater perception of safety.
