Joint statement from Alex Chalk, Chair of Cheltenham BID, and Fran Inman, Chief Executive of Cheltenham BID
We are delighted to share the news about the future of Cheltenham BID.
Following a comprehensive recruitment process, the Board has appointed Julie Reader-Sullivan as the next Chief Executive.
As Cheltenham BID prepares for this leadership transition, the Board and executive team have worked closely together to ensure the organisation is well positioned for its next chapter. Since becoming Chief Executive, Fran has worked alongside an exceptional business community, partners, a dedicated Board and a talented BID team, to see Cheltenham thrive. Throughout this period, a key priority has been ensuring the BID has a vision and stability needed to continue delivering for businesses and the town.
The recruitment process has reflected this as Julie brings extensive senior leadership experience spanning economic development, regeneration, business growth, tourism, strategic partnerships and organisational leadership.
Most recently, she served as Chief Executive of Headway Gloucestershire and has previously held senior leadership roles focused on planning, growth and economic development. Throughout her career, she has built a reputation for bringing people together, navigating complex challenges and delivering positive outcomes for businesses, communities and stakeholders.
We are incredibly excited about what Julie’s appointment means for Cheltenham BID. Her experience, energy and strategic vision make her exceptionally well placed to lead the BID into its next chapter. As Chair and outgoing Chief Executive, we want to reassure businesses, partners and stakeholders that the BID’s commitment remains unchanged. Cheltenham BID will continue to be a strong voice for business, a trusted partner to stakeholders and a champion for our town centre.

As Fran prepares to step down, we would like to take this opportunity to recognise and thank her for her leadership and contribution to Cheltenham BID. The Board, BID team and wider stakeholder community will be working closely with Julie as she begins her new role, and we are confident that she inherits a talented team, strong partnerships and a successful organisation with a clear purpose.
