Really good to step out of the day-to-day this week at our latest C2S Leader Boardroom, brilliantly hosted by Lakes in Tewkesbury. ☕️🧠
A huge thank you to Mike Gahir, Managing Director, who shared the Lakes story so openly – from joining a family business five years ago, through impressive growth, and into what’s next. Honest reflections, real challenges, and insights that genuinely resonated around the table.
🔒 As always, these sessions run under Chatham House Rules, creating the trust and safety for senior leaders to speak candidly, test ideas, and learn from each other’s experiences.
💚 It was also great to see Lakes’ BCorp certification front and centre. A fantastic achievement and something the team are rightly proud of, showing that strong commercial performance and responsible business go hand in hand.
💡 The discussion was rich with ideas, insight, and shared experience – exactly what these Leader Boardrooms are designed for:
• stepping back from working in the business
• creating time and headspace to work on the business
• supported by a trusted peer group who genuinely “get it”
🎉 We also took time to celebrate two brilliant milestones within the C2S community:
👏 Richard Currie , MD at Colour Connection – 34 years at the business
👏 Nick Bracey , owner & joint founder of Brace Creative Agency – 19 years in the role
Sustaining and growing a business over that timeframe is no mean feat – and absolutely worth recognising 🙌
🤝 This is a core part of what C2S is about: supporting senior business people with the time, space, and peer support to think bigger, share openly, and move forward with clarity.
Thank you for everyone’s contribution 🙌
