This month we are delighted to be joined by: Stephen Conlay, Senior Associate, Employment Team at BPE Solicitors.
Steve joined BPE in 2005, spending six years in the personal injury department where he worked for both claimants and defendants. During this period, he gained significant experience in claims involving stress and anxiety, as well as advising on prosecutions brought by the Health and Safety Executive.
In 2012, Steve joined the Employment department, transferring his personal injury expertise into the employment law arena. He advises private sector clients, many of whom hold public sector contracts, on matters including discrimination, unfair dismissal, and TUPE. He provides day-to-day advice and has played a key role in guiding clients through the evolving legal landscape, particularly in relation to holiday pay. Steve qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive with CILEX in 2017.
Steve provides ongoing support and advice to a wide range of clients, from SMEs to FTSE-listed companies. His work includes defending employment tribunal claims for unfair dismissal and discrimination, as well as advising on company restructures and employee and director exits. His clients range from national retailers to private sector manufacturers.

Employment Tribunal claims involving unfair dismissal, holiday pay, TUPE, and race, sex, and disability discrimination
Applying personal injury sector experience to advise on injury-related aspects of discrimination claims
Advising businesses and employees on settlement agreements and the exit of staff
Providing legal updates and bulletins to clients and colleagues
