Event details

The C2S Cheltenham Racecourse Business Breakfasts have been a huge success but you’ll have to be quick off the mark to secure your place for our next event.

Our upcoming networking event will take place in The Manderin Suite with an exclusive tour of the  Weighing Room.

This is a unique opportunity to truly venture behind the scenes, and enjoy an experience usually exclusively reserved for  jockeys, valets and race day officials.

Our special guest for this event is Tom Scudamore, ex-jockey, turned trainer.

On the Day

The breakfast will be served in the Manderin Suite where we will hear from Tom, followed by a tour of the weighing room.

You’ll be guided through what happens on race day, sit on the same changing room benches as the greats Sir AP McCoy, Ruby Walsh and Rachael Blackmore. You can even visit Barry Geraghty corner!

This is the first time the racecourse has ever agreed to open the Weighing Room for Business Breakfast.

Guest Speaker – Tom Scudamore

Tom Scudamore- Jockey Career

Tom Scudamore (born 22 May 1982) is a retired British National Hunt jockey, part of a celebrated racing family: his father Peter was an eight-time champion jockey and his grandfather Michael won the Grand National in 1959. Scudamore grew up around racing in Gloucestershire was educated at Cheltenham College. He rode his first winners in 1998, both on the Flat and over jumps, before turning professional in October 2001.

Over a 25-year career he rode over 1,500 winners, placing him among the top 10 most prolific National Hunt jockeys in Britain and Ireland. His major successes included 10 Cheltenham Festival wins and Grade 1 victories such as the King George VI Chase and Stayers’ Hurdle on Thistlecrack in 2016. His best seasonal tally was 150 winners in 2014/15. Scudamore spent much of his career as stable jockey for David Pipe and also won notable races for others, including the Scottish Grand National on Mighty Thunder.

He announced his immediate retirement in February 2023 at age 40 after a fall at Leicester stating he had  “nothing left in the tank” as a rider.

Life After Racing

Since retiring from riding, Tom Scudamore has stayed closely involved in the racing world. He has moved into media and broadcasting, working as a presenter on TV and radio, including appearances for ITV. He’s also written for racing publications and outlets, sharing insights from his career.

In addition, Scudamore has been active with horses and training, helping with young horses and point-to-pointers at his family yard as part of a reorganisation of the family’s racing interests. He contributes to print and online media and speaks at events, combining his experience as a top jockey with his post-riding roles.
