True leadership is a representation of the way you work with your team to achieve goals. A true leader makes an effort to help develop their team’s skills so they can reach their full potential. It is a critical part of any organisational success but does not just reside with the person at the top of the organisation. People can show leadership skills throughout an organisation.
So, what makes a good leader? There are qualities like integrity, passion, courage, humility, and empathy that would seem to be timeless qualities. But in today’s unpredictable global environment, the ante has been upped.
Candidates in this category can be long-standing, established business leaders with a track record of business success and excellence; newer leaders who are challenging industry norms and disrupting the sector whist demonstrating exceptional achievement. Or those within a business who have tackled problems and led the organsition/teams through a difficult environment and shown exceptional leadership qualities.
This award is open to any organisation from any sector and any size in the Southern region of the UK (excluding London), and South Wales.
Judging Criteria
To enter, you will be asked to submit your entry which shows how your organisation has met the criteria for this category.
The judges are looking for:
- Strong track record of commercial success (in current and/or previous businesses)
- Evidence of the creation of a major scalable business or brand
- Outstanding personal ambition and vision
- Strong and positive leadership of your business and workforce
- Demonstrable impact on your industry, either as a disruptor or in setting high standards over a longer period
- Evidence of what employees/peers/stakeholders say.
- Ethical practice and profit with purpose
The application form will require you to provide some basic background to your business (if not included above).
- Sector
- Turnover (if applicable)
- Number of employees
- Purpose & Values of the business
- Mix of workforce – age and sex
- All information submitted with be confidential and only shared with the judging panel

Entries which demonstrate how the organisation or individual has gone above and beyond in this category will stand a better chance of becoming shortlisted. Please ensure your entry is clearly outlined using bullet points and headings to make it easier for judges to read and analyse your entry. For some awards, we may require additional information, which a member of the C2S Team will contact you to request these.
It is free to enter the C2S Regional Business Awards, and you are welcome to apply for multiple awards. You may submit an entry for yourself, your own organisation, or nominate others. As per our terms and conditions, finalists are expected to have at least one representative from your organisation attend the Awards Evening. Sponsors are also eligible to enter the awards.
