This award celebrates businesses that are committed to making a positive impact beyond the bottom line. If your company goes the extra mile to contribute to the community, protect the environment, and support social causes, this is the category for you.

We’re looking for businesses that have integrated CSR into their core values, demonstrating real dedication to sustainability, ethical practices, and community engagement. Whether through charitable initiatives, eco-friendly operations, or employee welfare programs, this award recognises companies that prioritise doing good while doing business.

This award is open to any organisation from any sector and any size in the Southern region of the UK (excluding London), and South Wales.

Judging Criteria

To enter, you will be asked to submit your entry which shows how your organisation has met the criteria for this category.

The judges are looking for:

  • Community Impact: Evidence of initiatives that have delivered measurable and meaningful benefits to local or global communities.
  • Environmental Sustainability: Demonstration of sustainable practices, including waste reduction, energy efficiency, and eco-friendly innovations.
  • Integration with Core Values: CSR activities embedded in the company’s mission, vision, and day-to-day operations.
  • Employee Involvement: Opportunities for employees to participate in CSR activities, developing engagement and a sense of purpose.
  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Programmes or initiatives that actively promote inclusivity and equal opportunities within the company and beyond.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partnerships with NGOs, community groups, or other organisations to maximize the impact of CSR efforts.
  • Innovation in CSR: Use of creative or cutting-edge approaches to tackle social, environmental, or economic challenges.
  • Transparency and Communication: Clear reporting of CSR initiatives, achievements, and challenges, including raising awareness of critical issues.
  • Impact Measurement: Use of data and metrics to track, evaluate, and communicate the success of CSR initiatives.
  • Alignment with Global Goals: Contribution to international frameworks, such as the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
  • Sustainability of Initiatives: Evidence of long-term planning and commitment to ensuring CSR efforts are impactful and enduring.
  • Adaptability and Improvement: Willingness to learn, adapt, and enhance CSR practices based on feedback and results.

Entries which demonstrate how the organisation or individual has gone above and beyond in this category will stand a better chance of becoming shortlisted. Please ensure your entry is clearly outlined using bullet points and headings to make it easier for judges to read and analyse your entry. For some awards, we may require additional information, which a member of the C2S Team will contact you to request these.

It is free to enter the C2S Regional Business Awards, and you are welcome to apply for multiple awards. You may submit an entry for yourself, your own organisation, or nominate others. As per our terms and conditions, finalists are expected to have at least one representative from your organisation attend the Awards Evening. Sponsors are also eligible to enter the awards.
